About Us

New Generation Trust has reached out to vulnerable communities in Delhi since 2005. Our community and our works are an expression of our long-term commitment to people and their rehabilitation and restoration.

We seek to catalyze dialogues about concerns in the city and to equip individuals and communities to address and overcome their own and collective social issues.

Khushi's Story

Teenage Khushi* is an absolute bundle of joy and laughter just like her name, which means “Joyful” in Hindi. Yet she dares to smile at her pain. The most important relationships in her life, which should have brought joy, have instead brought heartache.

She struggles with questions about the abuse and abandonment that happened to her when she was very young. While living at Rafa Home for Girls, she has been able to process her past and speak her heart.

Khushi has expressed, “I am grateful that I could come to a place like Rafa Home for Girls, where I can start dreaming again and now have the opportunity to go to school.” ❦

Gauri's Story

Gauri* met our Jesiah team for the first time when she came to our clinic for a pregnancy check-up.

After several heart-breaking events in her life, she had tried to find solace in a relationship with a man who turned out to be a drug addict. Just when she found out she was pregnant, she also discovered she had contracted HIV from him.

To avoid the stigma in her hometown she fled to Delhi, where she visited a private doctor, who asked for an exorbitant sum for the delivery. Gauri was confused and despairing when she met us, not knowing what to do as she neared her baby’s due date.

We accompanied her throughout the process of registration and starting antiretroviral treatment. This was important, as it could protect both her and the baby. Not long after, Gauri gave birth to a healthy little boy! Thanks to the prophylaxis treatments given, he was kept safe from contracting the virus. Eventually, Gauri and her son were able to return to her hometown and reunite with her family. ❦
